William "Boss" Tweed Sentenced

On November 19, 1872, William M. "Boss" Tweed was sentenced to 12 years on Blackwell's Island. He was found guilty of corruption and fraud for using his position to help get his friends elected to office. He also used millions of dollars out of municipal funds.
