Martin's American History BlogDeath of ColumbusChristopher Columbus died on May 20, 1506, in Valladolid, Spain. There was some debate over the cause of Columbus's death; some say he died of gout, while others say it was Reiter's Syndrome. After his death, Columbus's body was repeatedly moved from place to place until his remains reached a cathedral in Seville were they have remained.
