Mourning President Ford

Thursday December 27, 2007
One year ago on December 27, 2006, President Gerald Ford passed away at the age of 93. The only president never to have been elected president or vice-president, he showed great courage during his short time as president. He took over upon Richard Nixon's resignation. Despite causing great harm to his own future political aspirations, he chose to pardon Nixon. His goal was to heal a deeply divided nation who had become distrustful of all politicians. While often made fun of by comedians as not having a great intellect, he possessed a straightforward manner and a strict sense of right and wrong. Here is the Ford image gallery showing key moments from his presidency.
