US Forces Land In France to fight in World War I

On June 26, 1917, the first U.S. troops arrived in France to fight alongside Britain, France, Italy, and Russia against Germany, and Austria-Hungary in World War I.

Many American lives were lost,or maimed,in that war.Our allies are not thankful for our support…

that’s not entirely true. france viewed the US as saviours (http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/usawar_ribot.htm), as they were again in WWII. it was not until the US president decided he didn’t need to consult our allies, and bucked world opinion by invading countries before exhausting all diplomatic alternatives. if you look at the US polls among US citizens, the numbers will tell you people in the US are beginning to feel the same.
