Democratic National Conventions Since 1832

Monday August 25, 2008
The Democratic National Convention is going strong in Denver, Colorado. The main purpose of the convention is to nominate a presidential and vice presidential candidate. However, as seen this year, it can also be a time to help overcome issues within a party and bring it together behind the chosen candidate. Most Democratic National Conventions have occurred in the month of July and most often in Chicago. The last time the convention was hosted in Denver was in 1908.
