"I Have a Dream"

Thursday August 28, 2008
On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous "I have a Dream" speech. Standing at the Lincoln Memorial, he used the words from the Declaration of Independence to emphasize his position: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." 200,000 people marched on Washington to demonstrate for civil rights.
