Vietnam War Protest
Tuesday October 21, 2008
The aftereffects of the Vietnam War are still being felt today. The activities of violent protesters such as Bill Ayers and his actions with the Weather Underground in protest to bombings in Hanoi and elsewhere are once again front and center as his relationship with Barack Obama is being probed (or not). On October 21, 1967, a huge nonviolent protest occurred when over 100,000 marchers descended on the Lincoln Memorial to protest the Vietnam War. The controversial war would not end until 1975.
