Stonewall Jackson was wounded during the Battle of Chancellorsville

Saturday May 2, 2009
The Battle of Chancellorsville occurred between April 30 and May 6, 1863. It ended in a Confederate victory. However, many historians believe that the loss of Stonewall Jackson who was wounded on May 2, was a serious blow to the Confederacy during the Civil War.

(1) the thinker says:

Without Jackson Lee lost Gettysburg. Jackson was the master of the “flanking movement”, as Longstreet suggested Lee go to the right. Ewell would not have had Jackson’s corp and Lee would have not consulted with the inept Ewell. Lee not only lost Gettysburg and over a 1/3 of his army that could not be replaced, the South was lost.
