William McKinley Shot

On September 5, 1901, Leon Czolgosz shot President William McKinley. The President was attending the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. Czolgosz was an anarchist. McKinley did not die until September 14th. He was the fourth president associated with Tecumseh's Curse. Czolgosz was later convicted and executed by electrocution. President McKinley was succeeded by Theodore Roosevelt who became the youngest person ever to be one of the Presidents of the United States.

In your article on the Tecumseh Curse you list Lincoln as the first candidate of the Republican Party. He was actually the second. John Fremont was the first in 1856.
Lincoln was the first candidate to win.
