On February 27, 1991, the first Gulf War came to an end when the Iraqi government announced acceptance of the UN resolution. Later that day, US president George H. W. Bush announced that the war was officially over. Approximately twelve years later, President George W. Bush sent troops into Iraq starting the second Gulf War which resulted in the capture and execution of Saddam Hussein, elections held throughout Iraq, and much controversy at home.

The first one, yes. We were asked for help by Kuwait to repel an invasion by Iraq. The second one, I don’t think so.

(2) facts says:

the fact is that the gulf war ended in a armistice agreement(cease fire), meaning that as long as Iraq complied with the conditions of the agreement and the UN Resolutions than there would be no more hostile actions taken along with a permanent peace treaty with all parties involved.
Iraq failed numerous times with the armistices agreement. requiring Clinton to take military action on numerous occasion’s. which in turn worked up to the invasion of Iraq and over throw of the Iraqi government.

with all said the Iraqi war started in Jan.91, a cease fire from Feb 91 to mar 03, and ended may 03.

from may 03 to 10 the US was involved in the reconstruction and rebuilding of Iraq.
