Citizens of Coffeyville, Kansas

Results: The Dalton Gang planned one last job to secure their future, financially and historically. They wanted to rob two banks in the same town and chose their old hometown of Coffeyville, Kansas. However, they did not count on being recognized or the tenacity with which the citizens would defend themselves. The gang engaged in a fierce gunfight that left four of them dead and the sole survivor Emmett grievously wounded. Their financial plans were ruined but their place in history was secure, although not for the reason they hoped.
