
On May 22, 1972,
President Richard Nixon became the first U.S. president to visit the USSR. President Nixon flew to Moscow to meet with Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. There they talked about arms limitation and avoidance of military confrontation. One of the main purposes of the meeting was to confirm and build the relationship between the U.S. and the USSR in international politics.

As graduation nears for many students across America I am reminded of one of our most scholarly presidents, President Wilson. As he said, "Life does not consist in thinking, it consists in acting." It is important that students realize that the point of high school and college is not just learning but putting that learning into action.
