Civil War Places

Interesting (non-battle) locations from the Civil War.
Beauvoir
Home of Jefferson Davis, this Mississippi site from the Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library is not to be missed.
The Civil War@Charleston
The title of this site does not do itself justice, for this is far more about the Civil War than just around Charleston, with many original articles written for this site. One of the finest sites anywhere; history or otherwise.
The Sultana: Death on the Dark River
On April 27, 1865, the Sultana exploded, burned and sank on the Mississippi River about seven miles north of Memphis, Tennessee. More than 1,800 men, women and children died in the tragedy. Most were Union soldiers on their way home from Confederate prison camps.
