The 2004 Presidential Election between Senator John Kerry and President George W. Bush ended up not quite as tight as everyone thought it would be. Before the election, political pundits claimed this election would be one of the most important ever. However, the significance of this election will not be determined until history has had time to judge. Here are a list of the top ten elections of the past that this election will eventually be compared against.

On November 2, 2004, George W. Bush was voted into the presidency by over 50% of the vote, despite the fact that exit polls were showing that he would not win that day. The election will have resounding effects from changing the way that the media uses polls to impacting the future strategies of the Democratic Party.

Before the election, I had placed a poll on this site. Here is the link to that poll - given for your information. Obviously, this poll was very unscientific seeing that it overwhelmingly gave the election to Kerry 2004 Election Poll.
