Events:
1630 - John Winthrop, governor of the Massachusetts Bay colony left England with about 900 colonists.

1765 - While presenting the Virginia Resolutions, Patrick Henry said, "If this be treason, make the most of it."

1790 - Rhode Island became the last of the 13 colonies to ratify the US Constitution.

1848 - Wisconsin was admitted as the 30th state.

1932 - The first of the "Bonus Army" began to arrive in Washington D.C.

1934 - The US released Cuba from the Platt Amendment which made it a protectorate of the US.
