1775 - King George III declares American colonies to be in a state of open rebellion.

1927 - Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were executed after being convicted of robbery and murder. Their executions were controversial because many people felt they were convicted based on their militant ararchic political beliefs.

1914 - Japan declares war on Germany during World War I.

1935 - Banking Act of 1935 revises the Federal Reserve.
