Question: Who were the chief anti-federalists?
Answer: The best known anti-federalist was Thomas Jefferson. These opponents of the new Constitution had many objections. Mainly they felt that the Constitution gave too many rights to the National government. Many of them were appeased with the addition of the Bill of Rights.
